Showmax Introduces M-PESA Integration for Seamless Payments in Kenya

Showmax fans will be happy to learn that they can directly pay for their subscriptions using MPESA directly within the app. The popular streaming service has finally integrated MPESA within its app following a recent update for the Kenyan subscribers. MPESA has become a household name here in Kenya and it’s understandable why Showmax was keen to have it as an alternative payment option.

Before the latest update which saw MPESA integrated, fans were forced to use other alternative payments methods even though MPESA is currently highly regarded within the country. But with this change, Showmax is finally embracing one of Kenya’s widely embraced mobile money service, M-Pesa.

According to the streaming service, the latest integration aligns with its commitment to provide a seamless user experience which ensures that subscribers can effortlessly access their favorite content without any payment barriers.

The decision to reintroduce M-PESA as an option within the app comes amid a significant rebrand that the company underwent earlier this year which was marked by a fresh logo as well as revamped subscription plans. This strategic move implies that the streaming service is finally heeding to customer needs and acknowledges the stiff competition within the segment.

Showmax has also partnered with Comcast, NBCUniversal, as well as Sky, a deal that promises an exciting lineup of premium content which leverages the media giant’s vast entertainment portfolio. With ownership of renowned entities like Universal Pictures, NBC, and DreamWorks Animation, subscribers can anticipate a diverse array of compelling shows and movies.

The streaming service now offers three distinct package options that are tailored to different viewing preferences. The Showmax Entertainment plan, which is currently priced at Ksh 650 per month for any compatible device caters to those seeking comprehensive streaming experience. Meanwhile, the Showmax Entertainment Mobile plan, which is available at Ksh 300 per month, targets users who prefer to on-the-go viewing on their mobile devices.

For avid football enthusiasts, the Showmax Premier League plan presents an exclusive opportunity to catch all 380 league games directly on their mobiles for just Ksh 500 per month. Although limited to mobile devices, this innovative plan offers unparalleled access to football action.

Additionally, subscribers have the flexibility to bundle the Showmax Premier League package with the Entertainment plan for Ksh 700, exclusively for mobile usage.
