Jitume Digital Empowerment Program Comes to Ruiru

As a proud resident of Ruiru, Kiambu County, I’m thrilled to share the exciting news of the government’s Jitume Digital Empowerment Program making its mark right here in our community. Led by our diligent Area MP, Simon King’ara, in collaboration with eMobilis, this initiative aims to equip our youth with the essential skills needed to thrive in the digital age.

Bridging the gap in digital Divide

Something that potential beneficiaries should find interesting from this program is the fact that it marks a significant step towards bridging the digital divide in our constituency. With 200 computers already in place and plans to expand this initiative to all eight wards, the vision is clear: empowering our youth for a brighter future.

Empowering Through Education

Recognizing the challenges of traditional employment avenues, MP King’ara urges our youth to seize the opportunity presented by the Jitume training program. By offering modules in Content Writing, Virtual Assistance, Digital Work Skills, and more, participants are not just learning; they’re preparing for success in the online marketplace.

A Promise of Growth

The commitment to growth doesn’t stop at training. MP King’ara’s pledge to increase the number of computers at the Biashara ward hub demonstrates unwavering support for our community’s digital advancement.

Voices of Hope

Joyce Wangeci’s story resonates with many of us. Her aspiration to transform internet usage from leisure to business reflects the transformative potential of this program. With access to mentorship and skills development, dreams like Joyce’s are within reach.

Connectivity Challenges

Well, done with the good news, as we celebrate this milestone, we must address the elephant in the room which is basically matters connectivity. Having reliable and stable internet connection continues to remain a hurdle for many, which continues to be a major factor in hindering full participation in the digital economy.
